Eaves: parts of draft plan need serious work

No harness racing at Woodbine? Elimination of Home Market Areas? A centralized government body that will collect revenue from Woodbine Entertainment Group (WEG) assets and determine how much flows back to Canada’s largest horse racing company?

Let’s just say WEG’s president and CEO isn’t onside with any of those ideas floated in the Horse Racing Industry Transition Panel’s draft report (see highlights p. 16) to create a sustainable industry in Ontario in the wake of the 2012 decision to cancel the wildly-successful Slots at Racetracks Program.
