FOUR MORE TRACKS IN HTA FOLD –
MEMBERSHIP NOW 41
Four more racetracks – new members Harrah’s
Chester Casino and Racetrack in Chester, PA, and Western Fair
Raceway in London, Ontario —and two returning tracks, Batavia Downs
in Batavia, NY, and Cal-Expo in Sacramento, California, have joined
Harness Tracks of America, bringing membership in the trade
association of major North American harness tracks to 41.
Anne Allman will represent Harrah’s and Hugh
Mitchell will serve as Western Fair’s director on the HTA board of
directors. Martin Basinait, president of Batavia Downs’ parent
Western OTB, will rejoin the board, and Chris Schick will serve as
an HTA director for Cal-Expo.
Jeffrey Smith of Hoosier Park, president of HTA,
said the addition of the four new tracks brings HTA to its highest
membership in decades, and adds coast-to-coast solidity and strength
to the track organization.
The four new members will officially be welcomed at HTA’s board

Vegas. |
