HTA ANNOUNCES TWO-DAY ART AUCTION
Harness Tracks of
America, flooded with the greatest selection of harness racing and
other equine art in its history, has scheduled a two-day art auction
– the first in the 27 years of the event – for Tattersalls in
Lexington, KY, Friday and Saturday mornings, October 8 and 9. All
work will be exhibited in the Red Mile grandstand the week of
October 4.
Featuring 50
exceptional Currier & Ives lithographs, including some of the rarest
ever produced by that famed firm, the sale also will include more
than 50 other historic works, original oils by George Ford Morris
and C. W. Anderson, thoroughbred prints by Richard Stone Reeves, and
outstanding original contemporary oil paintings, watercolors,
bronzes and wood carvings.
HTA will have the entire catalog
online on its Web site, www.harnesstracks.com, July 1, with
enlargement capability for each picture. Advance and telephone
bidding will be accepted for the sale. Printed catalogs can be
