Announces Its 2004 Champions

Harness Tracks of America, the association of major North American harness racetracks, announced its 2004 champions today, as selected by the racing secretaries of its 35 member organizations.

PACERS: 2-year-old colt: Village Jolt, winner of 6 of 10 starts and $918,577, owned by Jeffrey Snyder, New York City, and Arlene and Jules Siegel, New Hope, PA.

2-year-old filly: Co-champions, Restive Hanover, winner of 9 of 14 starts and $590,607, owned by Starmaker Farm, Cynthiana, KY, and Anthony J. McEldowney, Lexington, KY, and Cabrini Hanover, winner of 5 of 7 starts and $377,350, owned by Bob M. Anderson, St. Thomas, Ontario, and David S. Willmot, King City, Ontario.

3-year-old colt: Timesareachanging, winner of 10 of 22 starts and $1,175,574, owned by Perfect World Enterprises of Old Westbury, NY.

Older horse: Four Starzzz Shark, a winner of 9 of 11 starts and $766,945, owned by the F S Starzzzz Stables, Glenwood, NJ.

Older mare: Bunny Lake, in the money in 11 of 17 starts and $484,819 in 2004 and retired with 47 victories and $2,843,476 in earnings, owned by the W. Springtime Racing Stable of Johnstown, NY, and John W. Stark Jr., Saratoga Springs, NY.

3-year-old filly: Housethatruthbuilt, winner of 11 of 15 starts and $848,109, owned by Patricia Spinelli, Oyster Bay Cove, NY, and Theodore Gewertz, New York City.

Older horse: Mr. Muscleman, winner of 7 of 14 starts and $593,323, owned by the Adam Victor and Son Stable of New York City.

Owners of the winner will receive HTA’s bronze Nova awards at the association’s Night of Stars dinner at the Hyatt Grand Champions in Indian Wells, CA, March 11.
