May 19, 2003 A CALL
FOR HEIRLOOMS AND TREASURES OF THE PAST
Expanding its traditional
yearly art show and auction in Lexington in September for the
benefit of its College Scholarship Fund, Harness Tracks of America
this year will include rare and unusual art work beyond the original
paintings, sculptures and woodcarvings it offers annually.
Anyone wishing to sell
original Currier & Ives framed prints, George Ford Morris or Robert
Dickey drawings, Richard Stone Reeves paintings or other works by
major artists, should send 4 x 6 color pictures of the works to HTA
for its consideration by July 15. As with original artwork HTA
reserves the right of selection for its auction.
“We have some exceptional
treasures entered already,” HTA executive vice president Stan
Bergstein said in announcing the new addition, “and this year’s
auction will offer a selection of outstanding pieces not ordinarily
available in the sport.” |
