ISSUES CALL TO ARTISTS!!!
Harness Tracks of America has issued its annual "Call to Artists"
for works of art for the Harness Tracks of America Scholarship Fund
26th Art Competition and Auction. In an effort to encourage the
creation of a continuing supply of equine art reflecting the beauty,
color and excitement of the sport of harness racing, HTA, an
association of 38 North American harness racing associations, offers
guaranteed cash awards totaling at least $1,000 in cash prizes plus
recognition and publication awards.
Applications for this year’s competition and
auction have been mailed to more than 700 artists detailing
competition categories, rules and other information. Deadline for
entry is July 15, 2003.
Accepted works for the competition will be
displayed at The Red Mile harness track in Lexington, Kentucky, the
week of September 22nd and sold at public auction Sunday morning,
September 28, 2003, at Tattersalls Sales Pavilion. All net proceeds
of the auction support HTA’s College Scholarship Fund, which
provides $50,000 a year to deserving sons and daughters of
participants in the sport, or participants themselves.
